Background  —



Jeena International is a charity primarily focused on supporting women from ethnic minority backgrounds escape domestic abuse. I was tasked with developing a brand and accompanying website that would publicly present Jeena to those seeking help, while treating the nature of the work they carry out with sensitivity.

Approach  —



The branding needed to reflect the essence of the charity; empathetic yet empowering and so I worked with muted colours and soft typography to present the brand as approachable and not intimidating. 

 The most important consideration in designing the website, was understanding the courage of the user to enter the site in the first instance, and then providing her with the confidence to explore further. With this in mind, I used the real stories of women who had turned to Jeena as my inspiration, art directing a photoshoot to bring these stories to life and then designing the website around them.
